High fashion inspired by Zillertal: This is how stylish the valley of countless possibilities is

Snow-white glaciers, green coniferous forests and golden sunbeams reflected in deep blue mountain lakes. Zillertal is not only a designated hiking and skiing Eldorado, but also a place of inspiration. The fashion designer Rebekka Ruetz also found a muse in Zillertal. Her latest collection "placID" inspired by Zillertal shows the diversity and beauty of the valley and puts a young and cheeky Zillertal in the shop window. With its versatility, the collection represents the valley of countless possibilities and awakens a longing for the alpine natural world that characterises the Zillertal.

When the sun's rays get longer in late summer, the light also becomes softer and on some days you have the feeling of being enveloped in gold. The models presenting Rebekka Ruetz's upcoming summer collection are also enveloped in gold. The photoshoot for the collection took place in Zillertal at different altitudes - on the sunny valley floor and high above the valley with a view of the mountains. The collection was processed into garments in a sustainable manner, for instance with former advertising tarpaulins from the Zillertal Tourism Ltd. Pictures by Tom Klocker also lend a special touch to some of the pieces in the collection as print motifs. For example, a motif of the Stillupsee lake shrouded in mystical fog proves to be particularly dressy with its green, blue and grey tones.

Designer Rebekka Ruetz is known for her striking patterns and unusual cuts. She finds inspiration, strength and tranquillity away from the international fashion metropolises - in her home country and there especially in Zillertal. For her latest collection, the designer was inspired by Zillertal's diversity: It is important to her to incorporate as many different natural elements as possible in her collection. And so Zillertal's culture and landscape are reflected in the choice of colours, fabrics and patterns. Green like the forest, white like the glaciers, blue like the mountain lakes and the sky and golden like the sunrays touching the valley, the uniquely designed pieces present themselves. "With so much inspiration all around me, the design process is naturally easy for me. That's how I prefer to work," says Rebekka Ruetz.

"The new collection by Rebekka Ruetz represents the Zillertal in a unique and very different way," says Beate Kassner, Managing Director of Zillertal Tourism, enthusiastically. "Synergies are used and a whole new target group is addressed. At the same time, the Berlin Fashion Week, where the collection will be presented, offers a stage to prominently place the Zillertal."

The "placID" collection by Rebekka Ruetz will be presented at Berlin Fashion Week in January 2021. From April 2020, the collection will be available in the rebekka-ruétz online store and in the rebekka-ruétz flagship store in Kaufhaus Tyrol in Innsbruck. The Zillertal with all its facets also serves as a source of inspiration and muse for the upcoming winter collection, which is currently being created.
